  In Northumberland, a Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler was found in Tynemouth, whilst in East Yorkshire an Eastern Olivaceous Warbler was discovered at Flamborough Head. Other new discoveries included Eastern Stonechats in both Norfolk at Kelling, and St Kilda, Western Isles, Arctic Warblers at Bigton, Shetland and Papa Westray, Orkney, Dusky Warbler at Spurn, East Yorkshire, Lesser Grey Shrike in Norfolk at Winterton, Red-footed Falcon at Hartlepool in Cleveland, Blyth's Reed Warblers at Blakeney Point, Norfolk, and Skaw, Shetland, Black Kite in Skewjack in Cornwall, and a Wilson's Phalarope at Old Hall Marshes in Essex.

Lingering rarities included the Whiskered Tern in County Derry, Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire, two Ferruginous Ducks in Leicestershire, Black Kite in Shetland, Long-billed Dowitcher in Orkney, and Red-footed Falcon in Kent.
