  In Shetland, the warbler at Skibberhoull, Whalsay was trapped, and reidentified as the first Western Olivaceous Warbler for Britain. A Black-headed or Red-headed Bunting was at Flamborough Head, Yorkshire, along with the lingering Eastern Stonechat species.

A Radde's Warbler was at Ampthill, Bedfordshire, with other new discoveries including an Olive-backed Pipit at Welwick, Yorkshire, single Coues's Arctic Redpolls on Foula, Unst and Mainland Shetland, single Pallid Swifts at Foreness Point, Kent and West Runton, Norfolk, an Alpine Swift at Cley, Norfolk, a Baird's Sandpiper at South Slob, County Wexford and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Owenahincha, County Cork.

Lingering rarities included the Yellow Warbler in Shetland, Black-and-white Warbler in County Galway, Lesser Grey Shrike in Argyll, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Shetland, Red-flanked Bluetail in Yorkshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Sussex, Lesser Yellowlegs in Lincolnshire and White-rumped Sandpiper in County Derry.
