New discoveries today consisted of four Wilson's Petrels in County Cork at Galley Head, County Cork at Toe Head, a Kentish Plover in Kent at Pegwell Bay, and three Bee-eaters in Suffolk flew over Aldeburgh.

Rarities elsewhere included the Gull-billed Tern in County Wexford, Forster's Tern in Dorset, 16 Black-winged Stilts in Lincolnshire (10), and Kent (6), Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, two Caspian Terns in County Wexford and Norfolk respectively, three Bee-eaters in Norfolk, and Long-billed Dowitcher also in Norfolk.

Scarcity highlights included three Purple Herons in Cornwall, Red-backed Shrike in Orkney, Surf Scoter in Angus.

Some impressive seawatching conditions today yielded at least 2000 Cory's Shearwaters, 175 Great Shearwaters, six Balearic Shearwaters, and six Pomarine Skuas.
