| New discoveries today included a Semipalmated Sandpiper and Broad-billed Sandpiper together on Papa Westray, Orkney, a Great Reed Warbler at Minsmere RSPB, Suffolk, a Western Subalpine Warbler on Portland, Dorset, a Subalpine Warbler species on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, 12 Bee-eaters at Hickling, Norfolk and single Black Kites at Esclusham Mountain, Wrexham, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire and Wilverley Inclosure, Hampshire.
Lingering rarities included the Caspian Tern in Norfolk, Black-winged Stilts in Kent (four) and Somerset, Pallid Harrier in Shropshire, Eastern Subalpine Warbler and Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, Great Reed Warbler in Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in Gloucestershire, 13 Bee-eaters in Lincolnshire, King Eider in Aberdeenshire and Ferruginous Duck in Nottinghamshire. Scarcity highlights included a Golden Oriole, two Hoopoe, a Spotted Crake, an American Golden Plover, a Dotterel, 23 Temminck's Stint, a Purple Heron, four Night Herons, four Glossy Ibises, a Montagu's Harrier, a White-winged Black Tern, a Green-winged Teal, an American Wigeon, a Ring-necked Duck, a Pomarine Skua, an Iceland Gull and four Glaucous Gulls. |
