New discoveries today consisted of a late report of Slate-coloured Junco in Shetland, Kentish Plover in Northamptonshire, a Red-rumped Swallow in Conwy, and three Alpine Swifts in County Kerry, Norfolk, and East Yorkshire respectively. Existing rarities today comprised the Ross's Gull in Aberdeenshire, two Long-billed Dowitchers in Norfolk and Orkney respectively, Lesser Scaup in Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Gull-billed Tern in Devon, Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Suffolk, Alpine Swift in Devon, Bonaparte's Gull in Cornwall, Savi's Warbler in Cheshire, and two White-billed Divers in Moray. The Black-winged Stilt influx continued with 16 logged today across five counties comprising two in Britain and 14 in Ireland. Scarcities included eight Night Herons, Serin, two Rough-legged Buzzard, Pectoral Sandpiper, two Purple Herons, two Great Grey Shrikes, three Hoopoe, eight Glossy Ibises, eight Iceland Gulls, two Glaucous Gulls, Shorelark, three Surf Scoters, Woodchat Shrike, Kumlien's Gull, two Tundra Bean Geese, and 16 Ring-necked Ducks. |
