| A surprise discovery this afternoon was of a Forster's Tern at Sutton Bingham Reservoir on the Dorset /Somerset border, where it remained until this evening when it flew south. This is the second record for both counties.
Other new arrivals included a Lesser Yellowlegs at Budleigh Salterton, Devon, six Black-winged Stilts at Ventry, County Kerry and one at Coverack, Cornwall and single Alpine Swifts at Neath, Glamorgan and Portmarnock, County Dublin. Lingering rarities included Black-winged Stilts in Cornwall (seven), County Cork (six) and County Clare, Lesser Scaups in Western Isles and Clyde, Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian and single Alpine Swifts in Dorset and Norfolk. |
