Rarities today comprised White-winged Scoter, Richardson's Cackling Goose, and Azorean Yellow-legged Gull all in County Mayo, Greater Yellowlegs in County Waterford, Baikal Teal in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier, Long-billed Dowitcher, and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Hume's Warbler in Somerset, and Lesser Scaups in both Surrey and the Western Isles. Scarcities included Little Bunting and Rose-coloured Starling (Cornwall), Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Sabine's Gull and Great Grey Shrike (Hampshire), Snow Goose (County Mayo), Yellow-browed Warbler (Lancashire), Glossy Ibis (Devon), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Ring-billed Gull, American Wigeon, and Black Brant, four Green-winged Teals, five Surf Scoters, 11 Shorelarks, 13 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 45 Waxwings. |
