| The highlight of the day was the discovery of the first two Penduline Tits for Ireland, at the Gearagh in County Cork. A Red-breasted Goose and a Pallid Harrier were both found on Islay, Argyll.
Lingering rarities still present included White-winged Scoters in Lothian and County Mayo, Hooded Merganser also in County Mayo, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Kentish Plover in Somerset, Hume's Warbler in Kent, Long-billed Dowitcher, Hume's Warbler and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Arctic Redpoll and Bonaparte's Gull in Couny Antrim, King Eider in Cleveland, Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire and Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll. Scarcity highlights included a Rose-coloured Starling, a Lapland Bunting, a Great Grey Shrike, five Yellow-browed Warblers, seven Waxwings, 15 Shorelarks, two Leach's Petrels, three Grey Phalaropes, a Surf Scoter, three American Wigeon, 12 Ring-necked Ducks, a Black Brant, two Todd's Canada Geese, three Snow Geese, 13 Tundra Bean Geese, a Lady Amherst's Pheasant, seven Glossy Ibises, a Great Shearwater, a Pomarine Skua, a Kumlien's Gull, seven Iceland Gulls and 14 Glaucous Gulls. |
