Rarities today comprised both the White-winged Scoter and Hooded Merganser both still in County Mayo, Forster's Tern still in County Galway, Pallid Harrier and Hume's Warbler in Norfolk, Red-breasted Goose in Cumbria, Arctic Redpoll in County Antrim, and King Eider in Cleveland.

Scarcities included Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), Ring-billed Gull (County Galway), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Green-winged Teal (County Kerry), Snow Goose (Forth), Black Brant (Suffolk), two each of both Surf Scoter and Glossy Ibis, three Yellow-browed Warblers, five Ring-necked Ducks, eight Shorelarks, and a total of 32 Waxwings.
