Rarities today comprised the Isabelline Wheatear still in Gwynedd, Hume's Warbler and Black Scoter both still in Northumberland, Pallid Harriers in Cornwall and Norfolk, three Penduline Tits together in East Sussex, Red-flanked Bluetail on the Isles of Scilly, Dusky Warbler in Essex, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, King Eider on the Shetland Isles, White-billed Diver in Highland, Long-billed Dowitcher and three Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, and Lesser Yellowlegs and two Cackling Geese on the Western Isles. Scarcities included Short-toed Lark (Cornwall), Common Rosefinch (Western Isles), American Wigeon (Somerset), Surf Scoter (County Cork), Dotterel (County Wexford), Long-tailed Skua (Cornwall), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Hoopoe, and Black Brant, three of Richard's Pipit, Great Grey Shrike, Shorelark, Lapland Bunting, Sabine's Gull, and Great Shearwater, four Green-winged Teals, six Glossy Ibises, nine Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 191 Waxwings. |
