The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Pallid Harrier in Cornwall at Goonhilly Downs whilst elsewhere the Roller remained in Devon, as did the Baird's Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire, and Long-billed Dowitcher on the Orkney Isles,. In Somerset the Kentish Plover returned to winter at Burnham-on-Sea.

On the Shetland Isles the Long-billed Dowitcher remained on Fair Isle, with Woodchat Shrike, Red-backed Shrike and Bluethroat all on Unst, Surf Scoter, Wryneck, and two Pectoral Sandpipers on Mainland, and around island totals of two Barred Warblers and six Common Rosefinches. On the Isles of Scilly a Spotted Crake remained on Tresco, two Wrynecks were on St Mary's, and multiple Great Shearwaters were seen at sea.

Otherwise notable scarcities included Bluethroat (Orkney), Icterine Warbler (Norfolk), American Golden Plover (Anglesey), Surf Scoter (Cornwall), Red-breasted Flycatcher and Temminck's Stint (together in East Yorkshire), two each of Melodious Warbler, Rose-coloured Starling, and Purple Heron, and a total of seven Buff-breasted Sandpipers.
