| Discoveries today included a Northern Brown Shrike in Aberdeenshire at Bullers of
Buchan - the earliest autumn record by eleven days - a Blyth's Reed Warbler
well inland in Northamptonshire at Stanford Reservoir, an Arctic Warbler on the Orkney Isles on Papa Westray,
Greenish Warbler in East Yorkshire at Bempton Cliffs, and Baird's Sandpipers
both in County Cork at Ballycotton and in County Waterford at The Cunnigar. On the Shetland Isles a Paddyfield Warbler and Red-backed Shrike on Fair Isle, a Blyth's Reed Warbler was new on Whalsay, King Eider on Yell, an Ortolan Bunting on Out Skerries, on the Mainland two Arctic Warblers, Citrine Wagtail, Little Bunting, and King Eider, with around the island totals of two Barred Warblers, three Yellow-browed Warblers, four Common Rosefinches, and 12 Wrynecks. Rarities elsewhere comprised the elusive Roller still in Devon, Baird's Sandpiper on the Isles of Scilly, White-spotted Bluethroat in Gloucestershire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Red-footed Falcons in both Lancashire and Norfolk, and Citrine Wagtails in County Cork, Cornwall, and East Yorkshire. |

| Fantastic seawatching today with single Fea's or Desertas Petrels passing Ventnor, Isle of Wight, and Cape Clear, County Cork, and around island totals of 1,616
Great Shearwaters, 1,603 Cory's Shearwaters, 17 Long-tailed
Skuas, and six Sabine's Gulls. New rarities discovered were, on the Shetland Isles a Booted Warbler at Sumburgh, with Arctic Warbler and Greenish Warbler both on Unst, in County Durham a Greenish Warbler at Whitburn, and on the Isles of Scilly a new Citrine Wagtail on Tresco. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were Paddyfield Warbler, Arctic Warbler, and King Eider on Shetland, Baird's Sandpiper on Scilly, Red-footed Falcons in Lancashire and Norfolk, Citrine Wagtail in East Yorkshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent. |

| Discoveries today included a Greenish Warbler in Aberdeenshire at Whinnyfold, a
Citrine Wagtail in County Cork at Cape Clear, and now three Arctic Warblers
on the Shetland Isles; on Foula, Whalsay, and Mainland at Geosetter. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Paddyfield Warbler on Shetland, Baird's Sandpiper on the Isles of Scilly, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Red-footed Falcons in both Lancashire and Norfolk, and Citrine Wagtails in Cornwall, Shetland, and East Yorkshire. Scarcities included Bluethroat (Shetland), Golden Oriole and Red-breasted Flycatcher (Orkney Isles), Rose-coloured Starling (Norfolk), Purple Heron (Derbyshire), Yellow-browed Warbler and Grey-headed Wagtail (Shetland), two each of both American Golden Plover and Sabine's Gull, four of Red-backed Shrike and Red-necked Phalarope, five of Barred Warbler, Spotted Crake, and Dotterel, seven Glossy Ibises, nine Common Rosefinches, 13 of Pectoral Sandpiper and Cory's Shearwater, 23 Long-tailed Skuas, 27 Wrynecks, and a total of 91 Great Shearwaters. |

| The highlight of the day was a Band-rumped Petrel species passing the The Lizard, Cornwall. Elsewhere discoveries included a
Pacific Golden Plover in Suffolk at Aldeburgh, a Red-rumped Swallow
in Norfolk at Salthouse, two Melodious Warblers in Aberdeenshire, and in Gloucestershire the
White-spotted Bluethroat reappeared at Slimbridge. Rarities and scarcities from the east were both a Paddyfield Warbler and Arctic Warbler on the Shetland Isles, Greenish Warblers in Northumberland and North Yorkshire, Blyth's Reed Warblers on the Shetland Isles and in East Yorkshire, Little Bunting in Somerset, Red-breasted Flycatcher in Lincolnshire, Ortolan Bunting in Dorset, Rose-coloured Starling in Angus, Yellow-browed Warbler in Aberdeenshire, Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire, two each of Barred Warbler and Red-backed Shrike, three of Red-footed Falcon and Citrine Wagtail, four Icterine Warblers, five Common Rosefinches, and a total of 20 Wrynecks From the Nearctic were the Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Baird's Sandpipers on both the Isles of Scilly and in County Wexford, three American Golden Plovers, and 17 Pectoral Sandpipers. Significant late news concerned a Roller present in recent days at Bere Ferrers, Devon. |

Lingering rarities include the Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, Blyth’s Reed Warbler and Citrine Wagtail in East Yorkshire, Greenish Warblers in East Yorkshire, Arctic Warbler in Aberdeenshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth and Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire. |

| The highlights of the day came from the east with a Great Snipe on the Shetland Isles on Fair Isle,
Paddyfield Warbler still on the Orkney Isles, Red-footed Falcons in Lancashire and Suffolk, Blyth's Reed Warblers in Cornwall and East Yorkshire,
Citrine Wagtail East Yorkshire, Bluethroat in Hampshire, Icterine Warbler in Leicestershire,
Red-breasted Flycatcher in Cornwall, White-winged Black Tern in Kent, two each of
Arctic Warbler, Barred Warbler, and Ortolan Bunting, three
Greenish Warblers, five Red-backed Shrikes, six Common
Rosefinches, and a total of 20 Wrynecks. Nearctic waders comprised a Wilson's Phalarope on the Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, White-rumped Sandpiper in Lothian, two American Golden Plovers, and 12 Pectoral Sandpipers. Otherwise, the Forster's Tern remained in County Louth, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Black Kite in Gwent, Woodchat Shrike on Shetland, two Melodious Warblers in Cornwall, and Ferruginous Ducks in Oxfordshire and Warwickshire (2). |

| A Lesser Sand Plover was seen briefly at Cliffe Pools RSPB, Kent mid morning, before it flew and didn't return. In Shetland, single Arctic Warblers were on Unst and Foula and a Greenish Warbler was at Quendale, with another of the latter at Flamborough, Yorkshire and a Pallid Harrier on Staines Moor, Surrey.
The Eleonora's Falcon was seen in NE Norfolk a few times, with other lingering rarities including the Greater Sand Plover in Cleveland, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Paddyfield Warbler in Orkney, Citrine Wagtail, Arctic Warbler and Blyth's Reed Warbler in Shetland, another Citrine Wagtail in Yorkshire, Greenish Warbler in Northumberland, Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll and Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire. Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Melodious Warbler, three Icterine Warblers, a Marsh Warbler, five Barred Warblers, a Golden Oriole, a Rose-coloured Starling, three Red-backed Shrikes, six Common Rosefinches, six Wrynecks, two Spotted Crakes, a Grey Phalarope, four Red-necked Phalaropes, a Temminck's Stint, two American Golden Plovers, two Dotterel, 14 Pectoral Sandpipers, a Purple Heron, 17 Glossy Ibises, a Tundra Bean Goose, a Roseate Tern, ten Pomarine Skuas, up to 42 Long-tailed Skuas, six Cory's Shearwaters, 13 Great Shearwaters, 28 Balearic Shearwaters and a Glaucous Gull. |
