New rarities of the day include a Franklin’s Gull in County Cork, Spotted Sandpiper on St Kilda, Arctic Warbler in County Waterford, Red-rumped Swallow in Dorset, and a Black-browed Albatross flew past Devon. Lingering rarities include Citrine Wagtails in Shetland and Dorset, Western Bonelli’s Warbler still on Shetland, Eastern Olivaceous Warbler in County Dublin and Red-footed Falcon in Norfolk. |

New rarity of the day was a Red-rumped Swallow on the Isle of Wight Lingering rarities included the 3 Great Snipe on Fair Isle which have been trapped and ringed, Citrine Wagtails in Shetland and Dorset, Western Bonelli’s Warbler in Shetland and Scilly and Pied-billed Grebe still in Argyll. |

| Lingering rarities seen today included the Eastern Olivaceous Warbler at Howth, County Dublin, Western Bonelli's Warbler at Quendale, Shetland, Arctic Warbler on Barra, Western Isles and Citrine Wagtails at Lodmoor, Dorset and near Lerwick, Shetland.
Scarcity highlights included a Short-toed Lark, an Ortolan Bunting, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Common Rosefinch, a Lapland Bunting, a Great Grey Shrike, two Red-backed Shrikes, a Yellow-browed Warbler, 13 Wrynecks, a Ring-necked Duck, an American Golden Plover, a Temminck's Stint, two Red-necked Phalaropes, four Grey Phalaropes, four Pectoral Sandpipers, two Honey Buzzards, a Spotted Crake, six Glossy Ibises, two Leach's Petrels, two Sabine's Gulls, a White-winged Black Tern, three Roseate Terns, four Balearic Shearwaters, 19 Pomarine Skuas, around 49 Long-tailed Skuas, a Cory's Shearwater and 93 Great Shearwaters. |

| Thursday 15th September 2022 | ||

| The highlight of the day was the reappearance of the Double-crested Cormorant
in County Leitrim at Doon Lough where it has last been seen on 16th April. Lingering rarities elsehere included the Eastern Olivaceous Warbler
still in County Dublin, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Red-footed Falons in
both Kent and Lancashire, Bee-eater in Dorset, and Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire. On the Shetland Isles Great Snipe, Common Rosefinch, and two Lapland Buntings were on Fair Isle, and on Mainland Western Bonelli's Warbler, Citrine Wagtail, and Red-backed Shrike were all logged. On the Isles of Scilly a Western Bonelli's Warbler was new on Bryher, and on St Mary's Short-toed Lark, Red-backed Shrike, and four Wrynecks were recorded. Elsewhere rarities found today comprised a Citrine Wagtail in Dorset at Lodmoor, an Arctic Warbler on the Western Isles on Barra, a White-billed Diver passing County Durham and later Northumberland, and Bee-eaters briefly in Dorset, Suffolk, and the Isle of Wight. |

| Discoveries today included an Arctic Warbler in Fife at Fife Ness, Red-footed Falcon in Kent at Seasalter,
Black Kite in Gloucestershire at Rodborough Common, and in Cornwall Greenish Warbler at
Porthgwarra and Blyth's Reed Warbler on The Lizard. On the Shetland Isles a Great Snipe remained on Fair Isle, a Western Bonelli's Warbler and Pectoral Sandpiper were on Mainland, Blyth's Reed Warbler and Barred Warbler on Unst, and two each of both Common Rosefinch and Yellow-browed Warbler. On the isles of Scilly a Bonelli's Warbler species and Short-toed Lark were discovered on St Mary's with around island totals of Icterine Warbler, Common Rosefinch, Red-backed Shrike, Roseate Tern, six Wrynecks, 12 Cory's Shearwaters, and 93 Great Shearwaters. Elsewhere lingering rarities comprised the Eastern Olivaceous Warbler still in County Dublin, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Black Duck in County Mayo, Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, Bee-eater in Dorset, King Eider in Lothian, and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent. |

| Discoveries today included a Pallid Harrier in Norfolk at Holkham with a
Greenish Warbler nearby at Weybourne, a Blyth's Reed Warbler in County Kerry on the Skellig Islands, and Arctic Warblers on Shetland both on Mainland at Sandwick and on Unst at Halligarth. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Eastern Olivaceous Warbler in County Dublin, Western Bonelli's Warbler on the Shetland Isles, Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, King Eider in Lothian, Citrine Wagtail in Cornwall, and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Dorset), Purple Heron (Derbyshire), Little Bunting (Orkney Isles), Ortolan Bunting (Isles of Scilly), American Golden Plover (Merseyside), Temminck's Stint (County Cork), Rose-coloured Starling (Cornwall), Ring-necked Duck (Western Isles), Lapland Bunting (North Yorkshire), two each of Hoopoe, Dotterel, Red-necked Phalarope, Sabine's Gull, and Long-tailed Skua, four Barred Warblers, five Red-backed Shrikes, six of Common Rosefinch and Pectoral Sandpiper, seven Glossy Ibises, eight Yellow-browed Warblers, nine Cory's Shearwaters, 11 Great Shearwaters, and a total of 17 Wrynecks. Significant late news concerned a Pallid Harrier on Skokholm, Pembrokeshire. |

Lingering rarities Bee-eater in Dorset, Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire and Citrine Wagtails in County Cork and Cornwall. |

| The highlights of the day came from east Kent where a Short-toed Eagle flew over South Foreland and was later relocated on Ash Level, and an
Eleonora's Falcon was present briefly at Worth Marsh; the second individual of this species at that
location this year. Discoveries elsewhere included a Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire at Kilnsea, Greenish Warbler in Fife at Fife Ness, and a Bee-eater in Dorset at Portland Bill. On the Shetland Isles two Great Snipes and Olive-backed Pipit remained on Fair Isle, on Mainland Western Bonelli's Warbler, Ortolan Bunting, Little Bunting, Barred Warbler, and two Arctic Warblers were logged, and an Arctic Warbler on Unst, with totals from around the islands of two Common Rosefinches, two Red-backed Shrikes, and three each of both Wryneck and Yellow-browed Warbler. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Roller in Devon, Subalpine Warbler species in Lothian, Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, and Citrine Wagtails in both Cornwall and East Yorkshire. |

| New rarities discovered today included an early Red-flanked Bluetail in Fife at Kilminning, a Pallid Harrier
in Staffordshire at Branston, Baird's Sandpiper in County Wexford at The Cull,
Greenish Warbler in County Donegal on Tory Island, a Subalpine Warbler
species in Lothian at Barns Ness, a Black Kite briefly in East Sussex,
Bee-eater briefly in Dorset, and in East Yorkshire now two Citrine Wagtails together at Kilnsea. On the Shetland Isles there are now three Great Snipes together on Fair Isle, an Arctic Warbler on Unst, on Mainland three Arctic Warblers, a Western Bonelli's Warbler, a Bonelli's Warbler species, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Little Bunting, and Pectoral Sandpiper, whilst around island totals were three each of both Common Rosefinch and Red-backed Shrike, four Barred Warblers, five Wrynecks, and eight Yellow-browed Warblers. Elsewhere lingering rarities comprised the Roller still in Devon, Red-footed Falcon in Lancashire, Citrine Wagtail in Cornwall, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, White-spotted Bluethroat in Gloucestershire, and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent. |
