| A Great Snipe was seen briefly on Fair Isle, Shetland today, whilst a Fea's/Desertas Petrel was off the Scillonian.III, a White-rumped Sandpiper was at Musselburgh, Lothian and a Bee-eater was in Snettisham, Norfolk.
Lingering rarities included the Turkestan Shrike in Yorkshire, Citrine Wagtail in Gwent, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, nine Bee-eaters in Norfolk, Forster's Tern in County Louth, four Black-winged Stilts in Cheshire, King Eider in Lothian and Wilson's Petrels from the Scilly pelagic (three) and from a pelagic off Falmouth, Cornwall (two). Scarcity highlights included a Barred Warbler, a Melodious Warbler, three Icterine Warblers, a Red-backed Shrike, a Wryneck, two American Golden Plovers, three Pectoral Sandpipers, a Purple Heron, 14 Glossy Ibises, five Spotted Crakes, two Surf Scoters, a Tundra Bean Goose, 56 Roseate Terns, a Pomarine Skua, a Red-necked Phalarope, two Grey Phalaropes, three Sabine's Gulls, 138 Balearic Shearwaters, 141 Great Shearwaters and around 450 Cory's Shearwaters. |
