Monday 8th August 2022  
  In Cambridgeshire, the Cape Gull lingered at Grafham Water all day. The Elegant Tern reappeared, this time on Aughinish Island, County Clare, and the Scilly Laughing Gull was seen from the evening pelagic, along with at least six Wilson's Petrels.

Other lingering rarities seen today included the Harlequin Duck in Shetland, Turkestan Shrike in Yorkshire, Squacco Heron in Sussex, Forster's Tern in County Louth, Bonaparte's Gull in Argyll, Lesser Yellowlegs in Scilly, White-rumped Sandpiper in Leicestershire, King Eider in Lothian, two Ferruginous Ducks in Warwickshire and another in Northamptonshire and five Bee-eaters in Norfolk. A Black Kite flew over Belhaven Bay.

Scarcity highlights included an Icterine Warbler, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Spotted Crake, a Purple Heron, 21 Glossy Ibises, two Pectoral Sandpipers, two Red-necked Phalaropes, a Honey Buzzard, a Glaucous Gull, a Pomarine Skua and 15 Balearic Shearwaters.
