| The highlights of the day were the discoveries of a Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire at Normandy Marsh, and a
Kentish Plover in Essex at The Naze. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Turkestan Shrike and Black-browed Albatross still together in East Yorkshire, Pied-billed Grebe still in Argyll, Caspian Terns in Cleveland (2) and Dorset, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, the family of six Black-winged Stilts still in South Yorkshire, and in Norfolk White-rumped Sandpiper, three Bee-eaters, and six Black-winged Stilts. Scarcities included Night Heron (Kent), Hoopoe (West Sussex), Sabine's Gull (Lancashire), Temminck's Stint (South Yorkshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Aberdeenshire), Ring-billed Gull (County Clare), and a total of 11 Glossy Ibises. |
