| The highlight of the day was a Slate-coloured Junco in Argyll on Islay. Discoveries elsewhere included an Iberian Chiffchaff in Somerset at Rowberrow Warren, a
Lesser Yellowlegs in Northumberland at Maiden's Hall Lake, four Black-winged Stilts together in Norfolk at Hickling Broad, and
Red-rumped Swallows in East Yorkshire at Spurn and two together on North
Ronaldsay, Orkney Isles. Lingering rarities comprised the Black-browed Albatross still in East Yorkshire, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Ferruginous Duck in Worcestershire, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both County Londonderry and Suffolk. Scarcities included Golden Oriole (Isles of Scilly), Purple Heron (Kent), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), Honey Buzzard (Norfolk), two Ring-necked Ducks, five each of both Serin and Temminck's Stint, 10 migrant Dotterel, and a total of 16 Glossy Ibises. |
