| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a singing male Iberian Chiffchaff in London at Regent's Park, whilst a
Savi's Warbler was heard in Staffordshire at Belvide Reservoir, and a Red-rumped Swallow
was new on North Ronaldsay, Orkney Isles. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Greater Sand Plover in County Waterford, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Black-winged Stilt in Kent, King Eiders in both Cleveland and Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Wexford, Ferruginous Duck in Worcestershire, and White-billed Diver in Moray. Scarcities included Ortolan Bunting (Western Isles), Woodchat Shrike (Cornwall), American Golden Plover and American Wigeon (Northumberland), Night Heron (Devon), Temminck's Stint (East Sussex), Honey Buzzard (Surrey), Lapland Bunting (Shetland Isles), two each of Serin and Pectoral Sandpiper, four Ring-necked Ducks, eight migrant Dotterel, and a total of 13 Glossy Ibises. |
