Discoveries today included a Black Kite in Kent at Dungeness, and Red-rumped Swallows in Dorset at Portland and in Suffolk at Woodbridge. Continuing rarities comprised the Pacific Golden Plover still in Suffolk, Red-breasted Goose and Dusky Warbler in Norfolk, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on the Shetland Isles, Black-winged Stilt in Merseyside, Lesser Yellowlegs in both Suffolk and County Wexford, King Eider in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in County Wexford, and White-billed Divers in Aberdeenshire (3) and the Orkney Isles. Scarcities included Golden Oriole (Cornwall), Little Bunting (North Yorkshire), Purple Heron (Isles of Scilly), Wryneck (Lincolnshire), Shorelark (Pembrokeshire), Great Grey Shrike (Cleveland), Green-winged Teal (County Wexford), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), Kumlien's Gull (Western Isles), two each of Short-toed Lark, Woodchat Shrike, and Lapland Bunting, three Temminck's Stints, five of Hoopoe and Dotterel, six Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 18 Glossy Ibises. |
