  Rarities today comprised the Belted Kingfisher still in Lancashire, White-tailed Lapwing still in Lincolnshire, Baikal Teals in both East Yorkshire and Somerset, Ross's Goose in Clyde, Red-flanked Bluetail in County Durham, Hume's Warblers in East Sussex and Kent, three Penduline Tits together in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Galway and Suffolk, King Eider in Highland, White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles, two Cackling Geese on the Western Isles, and Lesser Scaups in Ayrshire, Dorset, and the Isles of Scilly.

Scarcities included Surf Scoter (Scilly), Kumlien's Gull (Orkney Isles), two each of Serin, American Wigeon, and Green-winged Teal, three of Ring-billed Gull and Great Grey Shrike, four of Snow Goose, Yellow-browed Warbler, and Waxwing, 11 Shorelarks, 13 Ring-necked Ducks, 22 Lapland Buntings, and a total of 42 Glossy Ibises.
