A small arrival of Dusky Warblers in the south-west resulted in now four being present in Cornwall (three at Porthgwarra and one still at Nanjizal) and three on Tresco, Scilly (with no news on the bird likely to still be present on St Mary's). Also new was a Lesser Scaup at Cloonacleigha Lough, County Sligo and a Ferruginous Duck at Marsh Lane NR, West Midlands.
Lingering rarities included the White-tailed Lapwing in Yorkshire, Semipalmated Plover in County Cork, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Wexford, Northern Harrier in County Offaly, Black Scoter in Moray, Lesser Scaup in Scilly and two Red-breasted Geese in Essex. Scarcity highlights included a Red-breasted Flycatcher, Serin, a Waxwing, four Great Grey Shrikes, five Yellow-browed Warblers, five Lapland Buntings, six Shorelarks, a Pectoral Sandpiper, two American Golden Plovers, two Grey Phalaropes, two Green-winged Teal, three Surf Scoters, nine Ring-necked Ducks, two Todd's Canada Geese, two Black Brants, three Tundra Bean Geese, four Snow Geese, 12 Glossy Ibises, a Ring-billed Gull, two Glaucous Gulls, two Iceland Gulls, six Pomarine Skuas and 796 Little Auks. |
