A King Eider was found in Burghead Bay, Moray today.
Lingering rarities included the White-tailed Lapwing and Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Snowy Owl in Western Isles, Squacco Heron in Flintshire, Wilson's Phalarope in Cheshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Argyll, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Wexford, Baird's Sandpiper and Balearic Woodchat Shrike in Scilly (with another of the former in County Cork), Red-breasted Goose in Lincolnshire and King Eider in Shetland. Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, a Red-breasted Flycatcher, a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Lapland Bunting, two Barred Warblers, two Wrynecks, four Rose-coloured Starlings, five Common Rosefinches, two Honey Buzzards, two Purple Herons, nine Glossy Ibises, two American Golden Plovers, three Buff-breasted Sandpipers, 30 Pectoral Sandpipers, seven Great Shearwaters, nine Leach's Petrels, two Sabine's Gulls, two Roseate Terns, three Long-tailed Skuas, five Pomarine Skuas, a Glaucous Gull, three Ring-necked Ducks and a Surf Scoter. |
