Rarities today comprised the Double-crested Cormorant still in County Kerry,
White-throated Sparrow still in East Sussex, American Herring Gull in Cornwall,
Two-barred Crossbill in Nottinghamshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Gloucestershire,
Penduline Tit in Somerset, Dusky Warbler in Merseyside, White-billed Diver
on the Shetland Isles, two King Eiders still together in County Donegal,
Red-rumped Swallow in Kent, and Bee-eaters briefly in both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Scarcities included Night Heron (Devon), Wryneck (Suffolk), American Wigeon (Shetland Isles), Black Brant (County Dublin), Kumlien's Gull (Cambridgeshire), two each of Hoopoe, Great Grey Shrike, and Grey Phalarope, three Surf Scoters, five Green-winged Teals, six Little Buntings, nine Glossy Ibises, 10 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 27 Lapland Buntings. |
