| The highlight of the day was a Black-throated Thrush found in Northumberland at Prestwick Carr. Rarities elsewhere comprised a
Coues's Arctic Redpoll new in Norfolk at Cockley Cley, the Alpine Swift still in Clyde,
Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Hume's Warbler in Dorset, Bonaparte's Gull in Cornwall,
Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford and Ferruginous Duck in Northumberland. Scarcities included Bluethroat (Lincolnshire), Little Bunting (Bedfordshire), American Wigeon (Worcestershire), Ring-billed Gull (County Cork), two each of Lesser Snow Goose and Kumlien's Gull, three of Ring-necked Duck, Green-winged Teal, Glossy Ibis and Lapland Bunting, six Shorelarks, and a total of 45 Cattle Egrets. |
