| Rarities today comprised the Pine Bunting still in North Yorkshire, White-billed Diver inland in Lincolnshire,
Dusky Thrush in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Pacific Diver and
Black Scoter in Northumberland, Pacific Diver, Hudsonian
Whimbrel, Eastern Black Redstart and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Killdeer and
White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire,
Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire, Lesser Scaup in Country Antrim, and
Ferruginous Ducks in both County Durham and Norfolk. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Serin (East Sussex), Ring-billed Gull (County Wexford), Glossy Ibis (Devon), two each of Surf Scoter, American Wigeon and Yellow-browed Warbler, three Richard's Pipits, four each of Ring-necked Duck, Great Grey Shrike and Lapland Bunting, 22 Cattle Egrets and 39 Shorelarks. |
