Friday 16th December 2016  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Black-throated Thrush at St Asaph, Denbighshire. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Killdeer still on the Shetland Isles, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire, Masked Wagtail in Pembrokeshire, both Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler and Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Desert Wheatear in Devon, and Eastern Black Redstarts in both Cleveland and Lothian.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Richard's Pipit (Gloucestershire), Surf Scoter (Devon), Ring-billed Gull (Hampshire), two Glossy Ibises, five Great Grey Shrikes, seven Ring-necked Ducks, 12 Lapland Buntings, 14 Shorelarks, and a total of 26 Cattle Egrets.
