| Highlight of the day was a Dusky Thrush, which was found and
photographed in a garden in Beeley, Derbyshire this afternoon, and identified
from the photographs this evening.
A Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll was found at Burravoe, Yell, Shetland, whilst lingering rarities included the Masked Wagtail in Pembrokeshire, Eastern Black Redstarts in Cleveland and Lothian, Dusky Warbler in Worcestershire, Isabelline Wheatear in Norfolk, Desert Wheatears in Devon and Sussex, Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, Pallid Harrier in Yorkshire, Hooded Merganser in Ayrshire, Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo, Black Duck in Highland, Lesser Scaup in Orkney and Ferruginous Duck in Berkshire. Scarcity highlights included a Red-backed Shrike in Cumbria, a Common Rosefinch in Shetland, a Richard's Pipit in Kent, a Rose-coloured Starling in Sussex, a Grey Phalarope in Bedfordshire and an American Golden Plover in Powys. |
