| Lingering rarities still present today included the Killdeer in
Shetland, Hooded Merganser in Ayrshire, Desert Wheatear in Devon,
Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in
Norfolk, Pallid Harrier in Yorkshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset
and single Ferruginous Ducks in Hampshire and County Durham.
The best of the rest were a Black-bellied Dipper, a Richard's Pipit, a Ring-billed Gull, a Rough-legged Buzzard, an American Golden Plover, a Surf Scoter, a Ring-necked Duck, two American Wigeon, two Green-winged Teals and three Great Grey Shrikes. |
