| An adult drake American White-winged Scoter (form deglandi) was
discovered at Blackdog, Aberdeenshire late afternoon. This is the same site
which hosted Britain's only record confirmed to be of this form, the
first-summer drake in summer 2011.
Lingering rarities included the Great Knot and Caspian Tern in Norfolk, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in Yorkshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland. Scarcity highlights included a Hoopoe, a Marsh Warbler, a Red-necked Phalarope, a Surf Scoter, a Cattle Egret, a White Stork, two Honey Buzzards and five Glossy Ibises. |
