Tuesday 14th June 2016
The highlight of the day was a male Pied Wheatear on the Isle of Wight at Freshwater: only the fourth British record in the spring/summer period, following males in Norfolk on 28th May 1978, East Sussex on 7th-9th July 1990, and East Yorkshire then North Yorkshire on 20th-23rd June 1991.

Elsewhere, a second Caspian Tern joined the first in Lincolnshire at Gibraltar Point, the Dalmatian Pelican remained in Cornwall, as did the Broad-billed Sandpiper in Conwy, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and in Forth the Gull-billed Tern reappeared.

Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Golden Oriole (East Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope (County Donegal), Cattle Egret (Isle of Wight), Ring-billed Gull (County Fermanagh), and three Glossy Ibises.
