Rarities today comprised the Glaucous-winged Gull still in County Cork, Pacific Diver in Cornwall, Gyr on the Western Isles, Penduline Tits in Cleveland (2) and Gloucestershire (2), Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire and Northumberland, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eiders in County Sligo and County Wexford, and Lesser Scaups in both Cornwall and Glamorgan.

Scarcities included Serin (Suffolk), Hoopoe (West Midlands), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), Ring-necked Duck (Ayrshire), two each of both Yellow-browed Warbler, Shorelark and American Wigeon, three Richard's Pipits, six Ring-billed Gulls, six Lapland Buntings and nine Surf Scoters (including five together in County Mayo).

Arriving migrants in Britain included 32 Sand Martins, 27 Wheatears, nine White Wagtails, nine Little Ringed Plovers, five Garganey, four Ospreys and a Swallow.
