  New discoveries today included a smart juvenile American Herring Gull at Raghly, County Sligo and two Penduline Tits at Saltholme RSPB, Cleveland, whilst there was news of a Ferruginous Duck at Caldecotte Lake, Buckinghamshire which was present for its second day.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Greater Yellowlegs on the Isle of Wight, Black Scoter, Long-billed Dowitcher and Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Northumberland, Gyr in the Western Isles, two Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, another Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and a Red-breasted Goose in Essex.
