| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Pallid Harrier in Norfolk at Warham Greens, whilst in Highland a
Northern Harrier was reported at Loch Watten. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Crag Martin in Derbyshire, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, Richardson's Cackling Goose on Islay, and single Lesser Scaup on both the Isles of Scilly and the Shetland Isles. Scarcities included Serin (London), Red-breasted Flycatcher (County Waterford), Hoopoe and Glossy Ibis (Norfolk), Sabine's Gull (Oxfordshire), Yellow-browed Warbler (West Midlands), two each of both Surf Scoter and Ring-necked Duck, three Ring-billed Gulls, four Rough-legged Buzzards and six Great Grey Shrikes. Seawatching produced Leach's Petrels in ten counties, and Pomarine Skua from four. |
