| New rarities discovered today were a Bonaparte's Gull at Rusheen Bay,
County Galway, and a report of a Red-throated Pipit over Carsington
Water, Derbyshire.
Lingering rarities included the Crag Martin in Derbyshire, Northern Harrier in Orkney, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland and White-rumped Sandpiper in Lothian. The best of the rest were a Red-breasted Flycatcher, a Hoopoe, a Ring-necked Duck, a Green-winged Teal, an American Golden Plover, a Ring-billed Gull, two Glossy Ibises, two Rough-legged Buzzards, two Black Brants, two Surf Scoters, five Yellow-browed Warblers, five Iceland Gulls and six Great Grey Shrikes. Seabirds included 14 Leach's Petrels, six Long-tailed Skuas, 48 Pomarine Skuas, 20 Grey Phalaropes and 11 Little Auks. |
