| New rarities today comprised a White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk at Hickling
Broad this evening, with a Caspian Tern briefly in Norfolk at Holme this morning, and, in Suffolk, an
Aquatic Warbler on Orford Ness. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were single Black Storks in Aberdeenshire, Dorset and East Yorkshire, the Paddyfield Warbler on the Shetland Isles, Red-footed Falcon in Staffordshire, and two Bee-eaters at the nest in Cumbria. Seabird highlights were a Fea's Petrel and three Wilson's Petrels off County Cork, Sabine's Gulls in both Argyll and Greater Manchester, and a total of 11 Great Shearwaters. Other scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (East Yorkshire), Purple Heron (Suffolk), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall and Lancashire), and Pectoral Sandpiper (East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Northumberland). |
