| A drake King Eider was off Spey Bay, Moray at 2pm, with another
sighting 16 miles to the west off Burghead at 12.05pm.
Lingering rarities seen today included both the Scottish Harlequin Ducks, Black-winged Stilt and Bonaparte's Gull in Dorset (with others of the latter species in County Waterford and Glamorgan), Laughing Gull in Wirral, two Penduline Tits in Devon, King Eider in Fife and single Lesser Scaups in Glamorgan and County Roscommon. The Portsoy, Aberdeenshire White-billed Diver count was boosted by a boat trip, and rose to at least ten individuals. Scarcity highlights included at least five Night Herons in the Isles of Scilly, Serin in Dorset, Hoopoe in Worcestershire, Little Bunting in Glamorgan and a group of four Ring-necked Ducks in Oxfordshire. |
