| Rarities today comprised both the Harlequin Duck and King Eider in Aberdeeenshire,
American Coot on the Western Isles, Black Scoter in Northumberland, three
Penduline Tits in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in East Sussex, Richardson's Cackling Goose
in County Sligo, and, in Cornwall, Pacific Diver, King Eider and
Lesser Scaup. Scarcities included Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), Night Heron (County Cork), Glossy Ibis (County Waterford), two each of both Ring-necked Duck and Cattle Egret, four American Wigeons, five each of Surf Scoter, Rough-legged Buzzard and Great Grey Shrike, seven Waxwings and 15 Tundra Bean Geese. Notable gulls totals were 31 Glaucous, 12 Iceland, eight Ring-billed, seven Caspian and two Kumlien's. |
