The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Naumann's Thrush in County Cork at Castletownroche; present briefly around midday before being lost. Elsewhere, an Ivory Gull was found on the Western Isles on Benbecula, whilst a Ferruginous Duck arrived at Carr Vale, Derbyshire.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Blyth's Pipit in West Yorkshire, two Penduline Tits in Devon, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, and the Eastern Black Redstart on the Isles of Scilly.

Scarcities included Barred Warbler (Dorset), Richard's Pipit (Dorset and Somerset), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Lesser Snow Goose (Norfolk), and American Wigeon (Aberdeenshire and Cornwall (2)).
