  A first-winter Forster's Tern was discovered at Elly on The Mullet, County Mayo, and a female King Eider was located at Ruddons Point, Fife.

Lingering rarities still present today included the American Coot, King Eider and Lesser Scaup in Highland, Ivory Gull in County Wexford, Ross's Gull in County Dublin, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaups in Staffordshire and Glamorgan, White-billed Diver in Devon and six Two-barred Crossbills in Yorkshire.
