  New today was a Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, off the heliport in Cardiff.

Lingering rarities included the American Coot and Lesser Scaup in Highland, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Ivory Gull in County Wexford, two Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, White-billed Diver in Orkney, single King Eiders in Lothian and County Mayo, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon. Two-barred Crossbills were seen in Norfolk, Yorkshire (seven), Shropshire (three) and Gloucestershire (five)

There was no sign of the White-winged Scoter in Lothian, which was seen on Boxing Day.
