  Significant late news today involved a drake White-winged Scoter in Lothian, which was photographed off Musselburgh on Boxing Day last year.

New discoveries today included a White-billed Diver off South Ronaldsay, Orkney and two Richardson's Cackling Geese on North Uist, Western Isles.

Lingering rarities included the American Coot in Highland, Thayer's Gull in Glamorgan, Ivory Gull in County Wexford, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, two Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Kent, White-billed Diver and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, single Lesser Scaups in Highland, Western Isles and Glamorgan. Two-barred Crossbills were in Norfolk, Shropshire (three), Yorkshire (seven) and Gloucestershire (four).
