Saturday 15th June 2013
The highlight of the day, and possibly the year for some, was the appearance of a Pacific Swift in Suffolk. Found at Trimley Marshes SWT at 10.40am, it remained on view all day, often showing very well, until dusk. The only other twitchable bird was a single day bird back in 1993 in Norfolk and, after several brief fly-overs and a multitude of false alarms over the years, this bird came very welcome to all who connected today.

Other rarities seen today included the Greenish Warbler in Lancashire, Black Kite and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Ferruginous Duck in Somerset and Glossy Ibis in Pembrokeshire.
