| In Northumberland, the Stilt Sandpiper remained at Low
Newton-by-the-Sea all day, showing well on the scrape by Newton Pool. New
discoveries today included two Blue-winged Teals together at Wexford WR,
County Wexford and a White-rumped Sandpiper on Tiree, Argyll.
Other lingering rarities included the Black-winged Pratincole on the Western Isles, Gull-billed Tern in Ceredigion, Black-headed Bunting in Orkney, Bonaparte's Gull in Sussex, Alpine Swift in Norfolk, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Waterford, Long-billed Dowitcher in Gloucestershire, Ferruginous Duck in Somerset and single Glossy Ibises in Pembrokeshire, County Wexford and County Cork. Scarcity highlights included a Melodious Warbler in Gwynedd, a Barred Warbler in Northumberland, a Long-tailed Skua in Norfolk, a Night Heron in Hampshire, single Purple Herons in Kent and Cambridgeshire, single Rose-coloured Starlings in Shetland and the Western Isles and single Pectoral Sandpipers in Kent and County Wexford. |
