  Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today comprised the Roller on the Orkney Isles, Snowy Owl in County Donegal, Iberian Chiffchaff in Somerset, Long-billed Dowitcher in Gloucestershire and Glossy Ibis in County Wexford. Elsewhere, brief encounters included a Bee-eater in Hampshire at Titchfield Haven, and a flock of six Glossy Ibises at Llanllwni, Carmarthenshire
.
Scarcities were represented by Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Cheshire), Purple Heron (Gloucestershire), White-winged Black Tern (Surrey), Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), White Stork (4 together in Somerset), Pectoral Sandpiper (South Yorkshire), Sabine's Gull (2 off Highland), and Great White Egret (Norfolk).
