Late news from yesterday concerned a Roller in Aberdeenshire, seen on wires by the A98 west of New Pitsligo during the evening. Extensive searching today failed to relocate it.

Lingering rarities today included the Ferruginous Duck at Blagdon Lake, Somerset and Glossy Ibis at Tacumshin, County Wexford.

Scarcity highlights included single Red-backed Shrikes in Northumberland and London, Short-toed Lark in Norfolk, Serin in Suffolk, Great Shearwater in Yorkshire, Cory's Shearwater in the Isles of Scilly, single Pectoral Sandpipers in Northumberland and Norfolk, Temminck's Stint in Leicestershire and single Montagu's Harriers in Lancashire and County Wexford.
