Rarities seen today included the Western Sandpiper and Coues's
Arctic Redpoll in Norfolk, along with at least one Ross's Goose and a
Ferruginous Duck, Greater Yellowlegs in Highland, Least
Sandpiper in County Kerry, American Buff-bellied Pipit in County
Waterford, Desert Wheatear in Northumberland, single Glossy Ibises
in Kent and Lancashire, Red-breasted Goose in Devon, single King
Eiders in County Kerry and Moray, single Lesser Scaups in
Gloucestershire and Somerset and Spotted Sandpiper in Devon.
Significant late news concerned a male Lesser Kestrel in Cornwall on 1st November, which would be the second record for the county after a one day bird in May 1968. |
