Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the Western Sandpiper
in Norfolk, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper and Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Bufflehead in Cornwall,
Spotted Sandpiper in Devon, King Eider in Moray, Blue-winged Teal in County Dublin, and single
Glossy Ibises in both Essex and Lancashire. Scarcities included American Wigeon (West Yorkshire and Dumfries and Galloway), Bluethroat (County Waterford), Yellow-browed Warbler (Devon) and Pectoral Sandpiper (Ayrshire), with Great White Egrets noted in Angus, Carmarthenshire, Cumbria and Kent (3). |
