| The highlight of the day was the discovery of an adult Bonaparte's Gull in Lligwy Bay, Anglesey, where it remained until dusk. Elsewhere, the
Black-throated Thrush remained in North Yorkshire as did the Spotted Sandpiper in Devon,
Little Bunting in Highland and Ferruginous Duck in County Armagh. Scarcities recorded today comprised six each of Glaucous Gull and Balearic Shearwater, four each of Ring-billed Gull and Iceland Gull, three each of Ring-necked Duck and Waxwing, two Cattle Egrets, Green-winged Teals and Caspian Gulls and singles of Serin (London), Great White Egret (Aberdeenshire), Lesser Snow Goose (County Donegal), Great Grey Shrike (Warwickshire) and Shorelark (Flintshire). |

| Wednesday 13th January 2010 | ||
| In North Yorkshire, the female Black-throated Thrush continued to
visit a garden in Newholm, near Whitby. In Cornwall, the juvenile Pallid
Harrier was seen again as it went to roost at Men-an-Tol, but it wasn't seen
during the day. Other lingering rarities included the American Eider in
County Donegal and Little Bunting in Highland.
Scarcities seen today included a Kumlien's Gull in Northamptonshire, Ring-necked Ducks in Cornwall and Yorkshire, Green-winged Teal in Hampshire, Waxwings in Lancashire, Norfolk and Orkney, Snow Goose in Cumbria, Iceland Gulls in Cheshire, County Fermanagh and Argyll, Ring-billed Gull in Hampshire, Todd's Canada Goose in Gloucestershire, Great White Egret in Cambridgeshire, Cattle Egret in Cornwall and a Lapland Bunting in London. |

| Tuesday 12th January 2010 | ||
| The highlight of the day was the continued presence of the Black-throated Thrush at Newholm, North Yorkshire. Other lingering rarities comprised the
Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, Red-breasted Goose in Devon, Ferruginous Duck in County Armagh and
Little Bunting in Highland whilst in Flintshire the Long-billed Dowitcher reappeared at Connah's Quay. Scarcities seen today included six each of Lapland Bunting (together in Lincolnshire) and Glaucous Gull, three Ring-billed Gulls, two each of Ring-necked Duck, Green-winged Teal and Caspian Gull and single Serin (London), Great White Egret (Kent), Great Grey Shrike (South Yorkshire), Black Brant (Dorset), Tundra Bean Goose (Powys) and Waxwing (Norfolk). |

| Monday 11th January 2010 | ||
| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a female Black-throated Thrush in a garden in Newholm, North Yorkshire. The Pallid Harrier showed again at Sennen, Cornwall whilst elsewhere lingering rarities comprised the Forster's Tern in County Galway, Black Kite in Powys, Baird's Sandpiper in Lothian, Spotted Sandpiper and Red-breasted Goose in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, Richardson's Canada Goose in Argyll, Ferruginous Duck in County Armagh, Little Bunting in Highland and in Kent a Penduline Tit reappeared at Dungeness. Scarcities present today included eight Glaucous Gulls, seven Waxwings, six Lapland Buntings (Lincolnhire), five Ring-billed Gulls, four Black Brants, three each of Shorelark, Iceland Gull and Caspian Gull, two each of Surf Scoter, Ring-necked Duck, Great White Egret and Green-winged Teal and single Serin (London), Richard's Pipit (Cornwall), Great Grey Shrike (Warwickshire) and Little Auk (North Yorkshire). |

| Sunday 10th January 2010 | ||
| The highlight of the day was confirmation of the identity of a juvenile Pallid Harrier in Cornwall at Sennen, then later near Madron at Men-an-Tol. This bird had been first seen in the area on 4th December but was not conclusively identified, and has proved elusive since. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today comprised the Forster's Tern in County Galway, Baird's Sandpiper in Lothian, Little Bunting in Highland, Spotted Sandpiper and Red-breasted Goose in Devon, Richardson's Canada Goose in Argyll, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan and Ferruginous Duck in County Armagh. Scarcities present included 18 Caspian Gulls, eleven each of Lapland Bunting and Iceland Gull, nine each of Ring-billed Gull and Glaucous Gull, six Black Brants, three each of Green-winged Teal and Waxwing, two each of Surf Scoter, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Snow Goose (together in Aberdeenshire), Great White Egret, Great Grey Shrike and Shorelark (Norfolk) and single Serin (London), Cattle Egret (Cornwall) and Grey Phalarope (Norfolk). |

| Saturday 9th January 2010 | ||
| In Powys, the juvenile Black Kite continued to show very well at the
Gigrin Farm feeding station. Other lingering rarities seen today included
Baird's Sandpiper in Lothian, Little Bunting in Highland, Lesser
Scaup in Glamorgan, Red-breasted Goose in Devon and Ferruginous
Duck in County Armagh.
Scarcities included Surf Scoter in Devon, Green-winged Teal in Hampshire, two Ring-necked Ducks, three Black Brants in Dorset, Snow Goose in Argyll, 22 Bean Geese, two Ring-billed Gulls, five Glaucous Gulls, six Iceland Gulls, ten Caspian Gulls, Great Grey Shrike in Warwickshire, 11 Spoonbills, Great White Egret and two Cattle Egrets in Somerset, Rough-legged Buzzard in Norfolk, three Waxwings, two Lapland Buntings and a Serin in London. |

Scarcities included eight Caspian Gulls, four Great White Egrets, three each of Lapland Bunting and Glaucous Gull, two each of Ring-billed Gull and Iceland Gull and single Serin (London), Richard's Pipit (Cornwall), Surf Scoter (Conwy), Ring-necked Duck (Lancashire) and Green-winged Teal (County Antrim). |
