Monday 11th January 2010  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a female Black-throated Thrush in a garden in Newholm, North Yorkshire.

The Pallid Harrier showed again at Sennen, Cornwall whilst elsewhere lingering rarities comprised the Forster's Tern in County Galway, Black Kite in Powys, Baird's Sandpiper in Lothian, Spotted Sandpiper and Red-breasted Goose in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, Richardson's Canada Goose in Argyll, Ferruginous Duck in County Armagh, Little Bunting in Highland and in Kent a Penduline Tit reappeared at Dungeness.

Scarcities present today included eight Glaucous Gulls, seven Waxwings, six Lapland Buntings (Lincolnhire), five Ring-billed Gulls, four Black Brants, three each of Shorelark, Iceland Gull and Caspian Gull, two each of Surf Scoter, Ring-necked Duck, Great White Egret and Green-winged Teal and single Serin (London), Richard's Pipit (Cornwall), Great Grey Shrike (Warwickshire) and Little Auk (North Yorkshire).
