Seasons Greetings from the RBA Team

Best wishes from all the RBA team for a Merry Christmas and a very healthy, joyous, bird-filled New Year. Thank-you very much to all our subscribers for your ongoing support.

2023 will no doubt be remembered for the incredible autumn and in particular the second-half of September and beginning of October, which saw an unprecedented arrival of American land birds. South-west Wales stole the show as mega alerts sounded, sometimes within minutes of each other, but birds were found from Shetland, the Western Isles and Scilly. The roll call of birds included Alder Flycatcher, Magnolia Warblers, Canada Warbler, Bobolinks, Black-and-white Warblers, Bay-breasted Warbler, Tennessee Warblers, Baltimore Orioles, Cliff Swallows, Philadelphia Vireo, Northern Parula, Ovenbird, Veery, Yellow Warblers and Blackburnian Warbler - to name but a few! Will we ever see the like again?

I am pleased to report that at the year-end, our subscription costs remain unchanged, starting from £49.99 for a whole year. With over 108,000 updates and breaking news alerts so far this year, the team has been working tirelessly to bring you the speediest most accurate news possible, and at the best value.

Of note, it won’t have escaped your attention that we are now adding the most accurate co-ordinates possible into every message, all of which are readily clickable on the RBA website, giving you access to one-click mapping of where the bird is, down to an accuracy of a few feet, and with 10x more accuracy than traditional Grid References.

Although the sun is still rising later for a few days more, the evenings have started getting longer for almost a week now. Make the most of all available daylight and have an excellent Christmas, see lots of great birds over the holidays and throughout the entirety of 2024. Above all however, I would like to send you best wishes for good health and safe travels.
